I was thirteen when I volunteered at Stray Heaven Animal Shelter to rescue cats and dogs. While there, I came to a decision about what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: work in the animal health care field. My next job was working in the petting zoo at the Pymatuning Deer Park. After graduating high school, I went to the Median School of Allied Health and received a two year associate degree in Animal Health Technology. I started working for Dr. Lynch at the Monroeville Veterinary Hospital in 1984 until he retired in 2006. I also worked at the University of Pittsburgh for two years doing hormonal research. Currently, I work part time at the Monroeville Pet Hospital. I’m married with three children, six cats, two dogs and one fish.
